Your Privacy & Security Is Important To Us
Security is a top priority at Employee Relations and we are committed to protecting
the privacy of you, your employees, and your applicants. We enforce data security
policies through our practices, processes, and systems to ensure that Member information
remains safe and secure.
Members can only view data within their own account, based on information they have
provided, and do not have the ability to view or access information that falls outside
their account. Any suspicious use of the website will result in automatic user account
blocking. All access to our systems is password protected and requires strong passwords
that must be different from the previous 3 used and all passwords must be reset
every 90 days.
We employ Secure Socket Layer (SSL) data encryption for data transmitted over the
Internet to and from our website. We have installed firewalls and other measures
to help thwart unapproved access to our systems. The servers used to store consumer
information are maintained in our secure, climate- controlled environment.
Privacy Policy
We are governed by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and companion state
regulations, as a consumer reporting agency and are subject to pertinent state and
federal laws. Employee Relations is, and has been committed to protecting your privacy
since our inception.
This Privacy Policy covers Employee Relations' website, and Employee Relations'
practices for handling personal information provided to Employee Relations over
the Internet by applicants connecting via SSL to our E-Application , Employee Relations'
Members and employees, using Employee Relations' online Member's site (for HR and
Management) that is accessible only through an access-restricted portion of Employee
Relations' website as well as GoEmployee.com (for non-HR purposes). Employee Relations
will collect, store, and use personally identifiable information only in compliance
with applicable law, including the FCRA.
Information Collection
When you browse Employee Relations' publicly accessible website, and/or fill out
an E-Application , you do so anonymously. Employee Relations collects personally
identifiable information from you only if you choose to provide this information
to us.
The types of personal information we may collect about you through our publicly
accessible website or the E-Application , include the following (should you decide
to provide such information to Employee Relations): (a) contact and identifying
information (e.g., name, address, e-mail address, phone and fax numbers, employer(s),
job title) in connection with your expression of interest in receiving information
about, or your registering for, Employee Relations products or services, newsletters
and conferences; (b) your resume information and employment application information
in response to job openings; and (c) any other personal information that you may
voluntarily provide to us in an online form or through an e-mail.
Access to certain Employee Relations web pages and online services by Employee Relations'
Members and their employees is not available to the general public and requires
a login code and password provided by Employee Relations. The use of those web pages,
and the information collected from those pages, are governed by a written agreement
between Employee Relations and its Members. On these web pages, Employee Relations
collects only information that the user voluntarily shares with Employee Relations.
This information is used for internal purposes, such as account establishment, billing,
fulfillment of orders and customer service.
If you have provided your personal information over this website in connection with
a background screen ordered by an Employee Relations' Member - your employer or
prospective employer - Employee Relations may use your personal information to perform
your background check for that Member. Employee Relations will not use your information
to conduct a background screening investigation and create a report unless Employee
Relations' Member completes a certification required by the FCRA and any other applicable
law(s). In this certification, Employee Relations' Member certifies to Employee
Relations that it has a legally permissible purpose for ordering the background
screen, and that it has, to the extent required by applicable law, obtained your
informed consent to conduct the background screen.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Employee Relations does not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
Employee Relations will not disclose your personal information to a third party
without your permission, except as described in this Privacy Policy.
Employee Relations may disclose personal information as necessary or appropriate
in connection with processing the requested product.
When Employee Relations conducts a background screening investigation about you,
Employee Relations may disclose to your employer or prospective employer information
that you submit through this website. Employee Relations also may disclose your
information to a third-party representative or subcontractor authorized by Employee
Relations to assist in the background screening investigation. These third parties
include service providers that help host or support the website or otherwise provide
technical assistance, court researchers and other service vendors. Employee Relations
transfers to these representatives and subcontractors only the personal information
they need to deliver to Employee Relations (for the benefit of Employee Relations'
Member) the requested product or service. Employee Relations prohibits these third
parties from using that information for any other purpose. Employee Relations requires
that these parties maintain commercially reasonable measures to protect the confidentiality
of your information.
Employee Relations also may, in good faith, disclose personal information and any
other additional information available to Employee Relations for any of the following
purposes: (a) Investigate, prevent or take action regarding actual or suspected
illegal activities or fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical
safety of any person, or violations of Employee Relations' terms of use; (b) respond
to, or defend, against subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process; (c) establish
or exercise Employee Relations' legal rights; or (d) otherwise comply with applicable
law.
Information Security
Employee Relations is committed to protecting the personal information that Employee
Relations receives about consumers. While we cannot guarantee the security of that
information, we utilize a combination of online and offline security technologies,
procedures and organizational measures to help safeguard consumer information against
loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.
